Zenith: the rainbow of colours of the Chronomaster Sport

Sparkling and multi-coloured, the Rainbow is the most precious version of Zenith's Chronomaster Sport with a 1/10th of a second reading.

Zenith Chronomaster Sport Rainbow

At Basel 94 (this was the name of the Basel Fair in 1994) Zenith presented the Chronomaster, a watch worthy of relaunching the production of a legendary movement such as the El Primeroresumed in the mid-1980s. Thus was born a line of chronographs that in more than twenty years has become one of the brand's key collections.

In 2021, the new, modern Chronomaster Sport generation set new standards of precision by virtue of an improved version of the legendary El Primero manufacture calibre. Thanks to a new set of wheels, the watch is able to ensure an extremely accurate tenth-of-a-second reading, with the hand in the centre of the dial. First presented in steel, it later expanded its offerings to include precious variations. The latest, in order of time, is the luxurious Chronomaster Sport Rainbow version.

Zenith's characteristic tricolour and tri-compax layout, with silver, anthracite and blue counters.

The Chronomaster Sport Rainbow, with its 41 mm 18-carat white gold case, introduces a distinctive colour interpretation, with its bezel set with baguette-cut gemstones in a rainbow gradation of colours, a precious trend that we often find lately in haute horology, even in sports watches. In particular, there are 50 stones: 40 sapphires totalling about 3.9 carats and 10 diamonds of about 1 carat in total, used as seconds indicators.

The black lacquered dial offers the iconic tricolour with counters in shades of grey and blue, Clear reference to the Zenith A386 model from 1969. The rainbow sapphire indices underline its preciousness. The facetted hour and minute hands are treated with SuperLuminova for excellent legibility even in the dark.

The legendary El Primero calibre in one of its most sophisticated versions

A special gear train enables the central hand of the Chronomaster Sport Rainbow to complete one revolution of the dial in just 10 seconds.

The El Primero 3600 calibre is the evolution of the first high-frequency automatic chronograph movement developed by Zenith in 1969.  Important fact: the power reserve has been increased from 50 to 60 hours. A special gear train enables the central chronograph hand to complete one revolution of the dial in one-second increments.
