Venezianico celebrates the explorers of the Great North by presenting a new Nereid, a diver water-resistant to 20 atmospheres of pressure, characterised by the use of green mother-of-pearl for the dial. This colour was chosen as a tribute to the chromatic nuances typical of polar nights.
The dial is made through careful processing of the mother-of-pearl: the careful selection of the raw material is followed by a polishing and shaping process to obtain a smooth and uniform surface. Finally, we proceed to the dyeing stage, in an emerald green colour that gives the dial its final appearance, without affecting the beauty and natural reflections of the mother-of-pearl.
The result is a dial with very distinctive tones, on which are placed baton hands and three-dimensional bar indices treated with SuperLuminova BGW9. A date window opens at 3 o'clock.
The dial itself is protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal and surrounded by a unidirectional rotating bezel on 120 snaps, knurled on the edge and with a tungsten ring.
The crown, knurled and protected, is screwed down and the case back is closed with screws. On the latter is the engraving of the submarine Nereid, from which the entire collection takes its inspiration.
The movement used is the Sellita calibre SW200-1, mechanical with automatic winding, housed inside a 42 mm steel case. The new Nereid mother-of-pearl is available with a green rubber strap or a steel Canova bracelet.
Prices760 euros (with rubber strap); 845 euros (with steel Canova bracelet).
