Timex presents the new Giorgio Galli S2Ti, a limited edition watch of 500 pieces created from the pen of the Italian designer.
Giorgio Galli, renowned Italian designer and Creative Director of Timex Group, has a career spanning over 30 years in the world of watchmaking. In particular, Galli has collaborated with leading brands, as well as having held, in the early 1990s, the role of Creative Director of Swatch. Moreover, throughout his career, Galli and his design studio have expanded their expertise in areas such as product design and brand identity.
However, his creativity also extends to photography, a great passion of his. Galli recently curated and presented a solo exhibition for the prestigious camera brand Leica. As a Leica Brand Ambassador, he embodies the brand's values and artistic vision, captivating the public with his photographic talent. Over the past two decades, Galli has helped redefine and evolve Timex through his visionary leadership and great artistic sensitivity. "For me, Timex is a unique brand because it represents independence, timeless beauty, quality and incredible value for money, said Giorgio Galli. "Being able to sculpt the legacy of this iconic brand has been an honour and a joy, and I am proud to sign this collection."
Today, the latest chapter in the Timex S Series materialises in the Giorgio Galli S2Ti, a limited edition of just 500 pieces. It is a watch from the very neat, minimalist design, which follows S1 and S2. The Timex Giorgio Galli S2Ti employs a 38 mm case made of titanium, enhanced by a forged carbon fibre central structure. The domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects a satin-finished titanium dial, which houses silver-plated hands and a steel ring with engraved markers.
Timex Giorgio Galli S2Ti: titanium and Swiss Made movement
Inside the 38 mm titanium case beats the Sellita SW200-1 calibre, Swiss Made.
Inside the case beats the Sellita SW200-1 automatic mechanical movement (28,800 vibrations per hour, 41-hour power reserve), Swiss Made. The movement is visible from the back side thanks to a sapphire glass porthole and employs a black rotor with ionic treatment.
The bracelet, also made of titanium, introduces the innovative I-Size system for perfect length adjustment without the need for tools. The customised folding clasp ensures optimal security and comfort. Water resistance is guaranteed up to 50 metres.
The Timex Giorgio Galli S2Ti thus constitutes the conclusion of the S Series, but is also a testimony to the evolution of Timex design under the guidance of the Italian designer. Furthermore, Timex points out that a new chapter is already being design: we just have to wait.
