TAG Heuer is expanding its Formula 1 collection with five new automatic chronographs celebrating the brand's strong link with motorsport and F1 in particular, of which it is once again Official Timekeeper as of this year.
The Formula 1 collection of TAG Heuer, launched in 1986, is enriched with five new mechanical chronographs which combine cutting-edge technology and design inspired by Formula 1 racing cars. In addition, the new models also celebrate the return, starting this year, of TAG Heuer as Official Timekeeper of the Formula 1 World Championship, in the 75th anniversary year of the championship itself.
The new models use a 44 mm case in grade 2 titanium, in some versions with black DLC treatment, which guarantee lightness and strength. The bezel with tachymeter scale has an aluminium ring with micro-perforations on the edge inspired by the brake discs of Formula 1 racing cars, further emphasising the racing DNA of the collection.
Also of note the coloured insert inserted between the case and the bezel itself. The opaline black dial is embellished with coloured details, reminiscent of racing car liveries.
TAG Heuer Formula 1 x Oracle Red Bull Racing: when two excellences meet
The collection also includes a special version dedicated to Team Oracle Red Bull Racing, of which the company is a partner.
Among the new TAG Heuer Formula 1 automatic chronographs is one made in collaboration with Oracle Red Bull Racing. This model has an opaline blue dial with a chequered flag pattern, forged carbon bezel and details in the characteristic colours of the F1 team. This special edition of the Formula 1 Chronograph celebrates a partnership that began in 2016.
All models are powered by Calibre 16 (based on the ETA/Valjoux 7750), an automatic chronograph movement running at 28,800 vibrations per hour and with a 42-hour power reserve. The new collection of automatic chronographs thus consists of four standard versions - with red, blue, lime green or total black accents - plus a special edition for Red Bull Racing.
Ergonomics played a key role in the development of these new TAG Heuer Formula 1s, with a lug-to-lug distance (i.e. the distance separating, vertically, the outermost extremities of the upper and lower lugs) of 47.3 mm, which guarantees optimum comfort on the wrist. The straps are made of rubber with matching colour profiles and a satin-finished steel pin buckle, complete the sporty look.
Water resistance is guaranteed up to 20 atmospheres. These new TAG Heuer Formula 1 automatic chronographs will be available from March 2025 for 'standard' models, while the special edition for Red Bull Racing will arrive in April 2025.
Prices4,650 euros (with unblackened titanium case); 4,850 euros (with blackened titanium DLC case); 5,350 euros (special version for Oracle Red Bull Racing).
