On Sunday 26 June, Squale chose Camaiore and the Tabarrani Jewellers to present a national preview of a limited edition of 300 pieces, created in collaboration with none other than the Italian Navy.
This new model re-proposes Squale's historic 'Master' case, one of the first made by Charles Von Büren in the 1960s. With the aim of creating an even more high-performance product for the renewed collaboration with the Navy, the 42 mm steel case has undergone a number of technical modifications (such as the introduction of a helium valve and the addition of a 4 mm thick sapphire crystal), enabling it to withstand depths of up to 1,200 metres.
The dial has been created using the 'sandwich' technique, which allows a greater quantity of SuperLuminova BWG9 to be concentrated in the large indexes, thus guaranteeing maximum luminosity and legibility even in extreme conditions. The movement used is the Sellita calibre SW 200-1, mechanical with automatic winding. The "bund" bezel with a single SuperLuminova triangle was intended exclusively for underwater military use, as it was born with the need to keep track of the hours spent on very long dives and not the minutes as in traditional diving bezels. The caseback bears the coat of arms of the Italian Navy, depicting the four Maritime Republics.
The appointment is in Piazza Diaz, where there will be an exhibition totally dedicated to the Squale, with all the current production and in parallel a historical exhibition with the Marina Militare models used by the legendary ComSubin raiders, accompanied by objects and memorabilia of the time.
Squale executives will be present and there will be a technical conference on this limited edition, this afternoon at 5.30 pm. The appointment, therefore, is in Piazza Diaz, which will be reserved all day for the event.
