A botanical filtration system, which uses plants to purify the air of pollutants, is the one developed by the Cassetti company in Ponte Vecchio, Florence, for its recently renovated Rolex-certified service centre.
Thanks to this ingenious system, which works to the benefit of the watches in the laboratory and takes into account the physical well-being and safety of the watch technicians, the air to be purified passes through a cavity below the floor level and flows through the filter modules, where the plants are planted, before returning, purified, to the environment.
The project, called 'The Air Factory', took years of study and relied on the valuable collaboration of the University of Florence.
Cassetti is a historic Italian company, formerly the pride of Made in Italy silverware. Founded in 1926 by Renzo Cassetti, it is now in its third generation with Andrea and Maria Grazia Cassetti, the founder's grandchildren, who opened the retail activity of the major watch brands on the Ponte Vecchio. Where today the family is present with the Vacheron Constantin and Rolex brands, with a multi-brand shop and a boutique dedicated to vintage watches, due to open in June 2022.
