The iconic Excalibur collection is Roger Dubuis' preferred platform of expression, as it best conveys his lifestyle based on a refusal to compromise. Today, the Maison is launching a new interpretation of the Excalibur Spider, with a smaller case designed specifically to house the Manufacture's iconic skeletonised flying tourbillon: a calibre made in-house, which (as mentioned) features one of the most popular complications in haute horlogerie and reduced to the bare essentials to fit inside the 39 mm case. This is the calibre RD510SQ (13 ½ lignes in diameter, 5.13 mm thick, 179 components, 17 jewels, 21,600 vib/h, 60-hour power reserve, circular-graining decorated plate and bridges with NAC coating, honeycomb decoration between the main plate and bridges, rhodium star decoration on the inner bridge), a hand-wound mechanical movement, equipped with a flying tourbillon and awarded the Poinçon de Genève. Both versions (with cases in pink gold with white accents or in total black titanium with DLC treatment) are equipped with the Roger Dubuis quick release system for the strap, which allows the watch's look to be changed quickly and easily. The 39 mm case size, then, makes these new Excalibur Spiders perfect for both her and him. Each timepiece is distinguished by a different insert, referring to the aforementioned strap: the black version is made of Rubber Tech and the white one is made of polished calfskin. Finally, both models have straps featuring the Pirelli Cinturato tyre profile on the inside. The two new versions of the Excalibur Spider are available in limited editions of just 88 pieces.
Prices: 167,000 euros (titanium); 190,000 euros (rose gold).
