As we expected, the Geneva Watch Days will no longer be held at the end of April as planned, but are postponed by a full four months and rescheduled for 26-29 August 2020.
"The postponement will allow the event not only to be safer, but possibly to become a bigger and more international event, since with the spread of Covid-19 now declining in countries such as China and Korea, it could attract not only major European operators but also an important Asian clientele." commented Jean-Christophe Babin.
Certainly the first dates, 26-29 April, were optimistically designed to allow the many international retailers and journalists to avoid losing travel and accommodation bookings in Switzerland. Unfortunately, the spread of Covid-19 has spread to pandemic proportions and the forecasts are no longer so rosy. So here comes the announcement of the new dates.
The brands that launched the project are: Bulgari, Breitling, Ulysse Nardin, Girard-Perregaux, Gerald Genta, Urwerk, H. Moser & Cie, De Bethune and MB&F.
