Richard Mille unveils the second model created in collaboration with Ferrari. It is the RM 43-01 Chronograph Split Tourbillon Ferrari, available in two limited edition versions.
Richard Mille and Ferrari present their new collaboration: the RM 43-01 Chronograph Double Tourbillon Ferrari, available in two versions of 75 pieces each, with a case entirely in Carbon TPT or in titanium with a Carbon TPT central part. The case measures 42.9 x 51.2 mm and is 17.1 mm thick.
Since 2021, the collaboration between Richard Mille and Ferrari has united two entities united by the relentless pursuit of technical innovation. After theRM UP-01 Ferrari record of 2022 (just 1.75 mm thick), this second creation reinvents Richard Mille's most complex type through a dynamic creative exchange between Maranello and Les Breuleux.
As mentioned, the RM 43-01 will be available in only 150 pieces: 75 in micro-polished and polished grade 5 titanium with a Carbon TPT centre piece, and 75 entirely in Carbon TPT, a composite material exclusive to Richard Mille, known for its lightness and strength.
"We have two cases to express two distinct personalities: one with a 'gentleman driver' character in the titanium case and one with a 'high octane' character in the carbon version," said Julien Boillat, Technical Director of Richard Mille's cases. The Centro Stile Ferrari contributed significantly to the aesthetics of the watch, from the overall look to the smallest details, such as the crown, the hands and the strap, with the latter reminiscent of the Purosangue's seat weave.
RM 43-01 Chronograph Double Tourbillon Ferrari: two limited editions
The new Richard Mille RM 43-01 Chronograph Split Tourbillon Ferrari is driven by the new RM43-01 calibre.
The RM43-01 calibre (two column wheels, 21,600 vibrations per hour, 70-hour power reserve), a hand-wound mechanical movement, was designed from the ground up in a process that lasted three years, and is equipped with the split-seconds chronograph and tourbillon device functions Off-centre with titanium cage, visible between 5 and 7 on the dial side.
The tourbillon device also displays continuous seconds. Extremely light and resistant, the movement rests on a grade 5 titanium skeleton plate with titanium and Carbon TPT bridges. Still on the dial side, we find at 9 o'clock the chrono minutes, at 11 o'clock the power reserve indicator, at 3 o'clock the function indicator and at 2 o'clock thetorque indicator, which provides information on the tension of the charge spring. This data allows the chronometric performance of the movement to be better managed.
In addition, the space left free during the development of the movement is occupied by a laser-engraved titanium plate with the Prancing Horse logo (between the 6 and 8 o'clock markers), whose silhouette is inspired by the rear wing of the Ferrari 499P.
The push-button for the split function is located at 4 on the case middle, while the push-buttons for start/stop and chronograph reset are located on the left side. These exclusive new Richard Mille watches made in collaboration with Ferrari feature a black rubber strap with a double titanium folding clasp. Water resistance is guaranteed up to 5 atmospheres.
Prices$1,300,000 (Titanium and Carbon TPT); $1,535,000 (Carbon TPT).
