Record-breaking sale for the Paul Newman Daytona in New York, in the thematic auction dedicated to some of the most famous iconic collector's watches of the last century, organised by Phillips with Bacs & Russo The Daytona Ref. 6239 that belonged to Paul Newman, the watch that inspired the nickname for one of the most prestigious versions of this famous chronograph, sold for $17,752,500 million (€15,228,095), a world record for a wristwatch at auction. The watch was sold to an anonymous buyer with a phone call, just 12 minutes after a tight 'battle' of bids.
