As with the 900P, Piaget's Altiplano Ultimate Automatic fuses the calibre and case components together, setting a new record for the world's thinnest automatic watch: 4.3 millimetres. The movement and case form a single entity in which the case also functions as a plate to which 219 incredibly thin components have been attached (some components are barely thicker than a hair). Such a complex architecture required the movement construction to be reversed in order to be able to arrange the bridges on the dial side. Moreover, the entire mechanism and hand structure are contained within the thickness of the balance.
Case: 18-carat rose gold, fusion of calibre and external elements (41 mm).
Glass: sapphire.
Back: with sapphire crystal.
Dial: off-centre between 9 and 12 o'clock, bar indices, baton hands fixed under the bridges (the latter visible from the dial side).
Movement: mechanical self-winding, calibre 910P, 22-carat Pvd-treated gold oscillating weight, approx. 50-hour power reserve, frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, 238 components (case + movement), 4.3 mm thick (case + movement), 30 jewels.
Strap: alligator.
