The two auctions inaugurating Phillips' collaboration with Bacs & Russo, which took place on 9 and 10 May in Geneva, totalled an impressive €28,411.944. On 9 May at the Glamorous Day-Date event, dedicated to the most prestigious Rolex model, the highest bid was for one of the two known pieces of the reference 6612, known as the "Big Kahuna", which fetched €453,000. In addition, each of the pieces that went to auction set a record for its reference. The auction was also the occasion to present the book "Day-Date the Presidential Rolex", edited by Pucci Papaleo, who was also involved in the organisation of the auction itself, and written by Paolo Gobbi.
On 10 May, in auction One (marking Bacs & Russo's return to Phillips after their excellent work at Christie's), dedicated to high-end watches, including rare specimens, the top lot was a Patek Philippe single-pusher medical chronograph in steel, which sold to an anonymous person over the phone for €4,451,141, more than double its initial estimate, setting a new record for a steel watch ever sold at auction.
