In keeping with the nautical world, Perrelet's new Turbine Yachts feature a wind rose along the edge of the dial, which is used to display orientation. The new Turbine Yachts are characterised by an attractive design that echoes the colours of the sea and the aesthetic codes of the most prestigious ships. Made in steel or black PVD steel case variants with a diameter of 47 mm, these new creations feature the famous and dynamic dial with the 11-blade turbine made of black titanium. The turbine itself is mounted on ball bearings and equipped with 5 tungsten counterweights, which allow it to rotate at the slightest movement of the wrist and return to its starting position: during this operation, the turbine reveals a sub-dial decorated with a motif of vertical lines, alternating in shades of black/silver or deep blue/black (depending on the version), and evoking the teak flooring typical of yacht decks. The ring of Arabic numerals and geometric indices (applied and luminescent, as are the hands) is surrounded by a second bidirectional rotating ring indicating the north and south cardinal points on a 360° scale. Activated by the crown at the 10 o'clock position, this instrument allows the user to maintain the set course and follow a given direction. By taking a few reference and orientation points from the position of the Sun, deducing the various cardinal directions becomes extremely simple. To maintain a harmonious and balanced case design, the winding and time-setting crown has been placed at 4 o'clock, in a position symmetrical to the crown operating the 'compass rose function'. Animated by the IWC-manufactured self-winding P-331-calibre movement (28,800 vibrations per hour, 25 jewels, bridges decorated with Côtes de Genève, pierced, rhodium-plated and personalised oscillating weight), they have a 42-hour power reserve when fully wound. The movement is visible through the anti-reflective sapphire crystal porthole on the back. These new proposals come with a rubber strap, black or blue, with a pin buckle matching the case material. Water resistance is guaranteed up to a pressure of 30 atmospheres (300 metres).
Prices: 5,580 euros (steel case); 5,980 euros (steel case with black PVD treatment).
