Patek Philippe has introduced a completely new style language into the Calatrava collection. A style that the Calatrava 5226G-001, essential in its functionality, shares with the more complicated Annual Calendar Travel Time Ref. 5326G-001.
Synonymous with the classic watch par excellence, the Calatrava once again confirms its elegance but with a completely unusual appeal: a textured dial in a new-vintage style and the Clous de Paris decoration on the case middle as a distinctive element.
With a diameter of 40 mm, the white gold case has been reworked (the lugs are integral with the case back) so that the Clous de Paris, a motif long associated with Calatrava, can be seen on the case middle, without interrupting it, particularly on the bezel, which was reproposed last year in Ref. 6119.
The dial, in anthracite grey fading to black towards the edge, has a grainy texture reminiscent of old camera bodies and has applied numerals and white gold syringe hands coated with luminescent substance. The date window is positioned at 3 o'clock, stamped in beige on a black background.
The movement is automatic calibre 26-330 S C, visible through the case back. The strap is offered in two interchangeable versions: beige calfskin with nubuck finish and black calfskin with embossed textile motif and beige stitching.
