Panerai presents a limited edition of only 20 pieces of the Submersible Tourbillon GMT Luna Rossa Experience Edition, whose lucky buyers will attend the finals of the America's Cup.
The watch is limited to just 20 pieces Panerai dedicated once again to the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli sailing team competing for the America's Cup, and first 45 mm Submersible to feature a tourbillon complication.
Not only that: is also the first tourbillon to use Carbotech, a new generation material inspired by Luna Rossa's carbon fibre boat hulls. On the openworked dial, which allows a glimpse of the inner mechanics, the red-arrow-tipped GMT hand and the tourbillon that rotates every 30 seconds along a path perpendicular to the balance stand out. At 3 o'clock is the day/night indicator.
Lighter than steel and titanium, more resistant to external stress and corrosion, Carbotech is a carbon fibre-based material introduced by Panerai to the world of haute horlogerie. This material combines high-level performance with an uneven, matt black appearance, which makes each watch slightly different from the others.
The Carbotech case is combined with a titanium back and bezel, the latter rotating unidirectional, with a blue-emitting luminescent reference marker. Hands and indices are also luminescent, with green emission for the hour hand and indices and blue emission for the minute hand.
Panerai Submersible Luna Rossa: a unique watch and experience
The final stages of the America's Cup 2024 will take place in Barcelona in October.
Equipped with two different straps, one in black rubber and one in grey fabric and rubber with the red Luna Rossa team stripe, this exclusive Panerai Submersible Tourbillon GMT is powered by the hand-wound mechanical calibre P.2015/T (a first for this collection). The power reserve is an impressive 4 days (96 hours).
The P.2015/T manufacture calibre has a frequency of oscillation of 28,800 vibrations per hour and is equipped with two barrels. The power reserve is indicated on the back side, which is fitted with a sapphire crystal porthole. Water resistance is guaranteed up to a pressure of 30 atmospheres (300 metres).
Finally, Panerai offers the owners of this exclusive watch the chance to witness a unique Venetian. The lucky owners of this watch will have access to the October finals of the 37th America's Cup, which will take place in Barcelona.
