Panerai at Fuorisalone 2015

On the occasion of the Salone del Mobile 2015, which will end on Sunday 19 April, Panerai is taking part in the Fuorisalone with the exhibition "Officine Panerai, tra storia e design" (Panerai Workshops, between history and design), set up at the Spazio Rossana Orlandi, in via Matteo Bandello 14/16 in Milan. Visitors have the opportunity to take a journey back in time to discover the origins of the 1930s and 1940s design of the Florentine company's watches, through an installation that revolves around a full-size prototype (7.5 metres in length) of a Siluro a Lenta Corsa, the attack craft on which the Italian Navy's raiders, wearing Panerai instruments and watches created expressly for them, carried out their underwater exploits. Around it, evocative creations made with Taroni fabrics, together with graphics and multimedia animations, contribute to making the display evocative, which also hosts iconic models from the brand's history and the Maison's latest novelties in terms of diver's watches. The star of the show is undoubtedly the Luminor Submersible 1950 Carbotech™, the new model exhibited for the first time in Milan and in Italy, which presents a new technical innovation: the case is made of carbotech, a composite material based on carbon fibres, with a black, opaque and uneven appearance that varies according to the cut made on the material to obtain the case. The exhibition also hosts the Radiomir Egiziano, the Special Edition created by Panerai in 2009, a faithful replica of the historic watch made in 1956 for the underwater commandos of the Egyptian Navy, from whose iconic design all the brand's new watches are inspired. Finally, a space is dedicated to the new Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Chrono Flyback, professional underwater chronographs.
