Launched in 2019, Out of Order's Swiss GMT collection consists of timepieces capable of indicating a second time zone and dedicated to different cities around the world. This year it is the turn of New York, thanks to the new Very Blue GMT New York and Oxydized Green GMT New York, both offered in a limited and numbered edition of just 100 pieces (the progressive number is engraved between the lugs at 6 o'clock).
Noteworthy is the presence of applied hour markers with a "stabilised rust" insert, as well as a screw-down case back engraved with New York's most famous manhole cover (i.e. the one found in Times Square) on the Very Blue, and the Statue of Liberty on the Oxydized Green. The Very Blue GMT New York also features a matte blue dial and a two-tone blue and indigo bezel with a silver-coloured 24-hour scale, and pays homage with its colours to the Big Apple skyline, with its skyscrapers that during the day are transformed by the sun into silver panels, while at night they appear as a jigsaw puzzle of tar lights in which blue stands out.
The Oxydized Green GMT New York, for its part, is a tribute to the Statue of Liberty, taking up the green colour (in this case combined with black) of the famous monument for its dial and bezel, which has become such over time due to the oxidation of copper.
The new Swiss GMT New York from Out of Order are guaranteed water-resistant to a pressure of 10 atmospheres and are powered by a Swiss Made quartz movement, Ronda calibre 515 24h. The bezel is bidirectional rotating on 120 clicks, the sapphire-coated crystal is fitted with a lens at the date window (at 3 o'clock), the indexes and hands (in aged bronze) are luminescent. These watches are completed by a handcrafted, vegetable-tanned leather strap.
Finally, we would like to emphasise how each one is somehow unique, thanks to the special ageing treatment handcrafted by expert artisans on each individual case.
