For years, Oris has been using bronze to make its diver's watches. Now the Hölstein-based company also uses this alloy for the case, bezel, crown and buckle of the Big Crown ProPilot shown here, which offers a date window at 6 o'clock on the dial. The latter, black and protected by a domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal, also houses blackened hands and Arabic numeral hour markers treated with SuperLuminova, as well as the peripheral sexagesimal scale. The movement used is the Oris calibre 751 (Sellita-based, 32.3 mm diameter, 26 jewels, 28,800 vibrations per hour, 42-hour power reserve), self-winding mechanical and visible from the back side. The Oris Big Crown ProPilot Big Date Bronze, water-resistant to 10 atmospheres, is completed by a green Ventile strap with a bronze folding clasp inspired by passenger aircraft seat belt buckles.
