Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch 321

In July 51 years ago, the Apollo 11 astronauts took their first steps on the moon. Inside the crew's Omega Speedmasters beat the famous calibre 321, a movement that became legendary that day, and for all moon landings in history. This year, Omega has cleverly recreated the calibre 321 in its second generation by launching a special timepiece, the Speedmaster Moonwatch 321 in stainless steel. After its launch in early 2020, Omega announces that the watch is ready to be worn soon on Earth. The timepiece, in a non-limited edition, offers a genuine connection to the history of space, with a movement that has been loved and sought after by collectors and enthusiasts around the world. The 39.7 mm case is made of stainless steel and influenced by another space-related Speedmaster, the 3rd generation, which was worn on the first American spacewalk in 1965. Its design includes a black [ZrO2] ceramic bezel with an enamel tachymeter scale, as well as the iconic Dot Over Ninety (point above ninety). The black dial is adorned with the famous Moonwatch hands, along with the vintage Omega logo. Through the sapphire crystal case back, the calibre 321 can be admired. It took two years of research and reconstruction to bring the movement to life, including using tomography (a digital scanning method) to look inside the Speedmaster worn by Eugene "Gene" Cernan during the Apollo 17 mission in 1972. Each movement was recreated to the authentic specifications of the original and assembled in the Omega 321 workshop.
