IWC enriches the Top Gun line with the Pilot's Watch Chronograph Top Gun Edition "SFTI". The watch, which draws inspiration from the "Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor" born in 2018 from a collaboration with instructors at Naval Air Station Lemoore, California, is available exclusively to pilots who have completed the Navy Fighter Weapons School. Limited to 1,500 pieces, it is made of robust materials to withstand the extreme stresses to which pilots in the cockpit of supersonic fighters are subjected: the large 44-millimetre case is made of black zirconium oxide ceramic, one of the hardest materials in the world, while the case back and pushers are made of Ceratanium, an innovative material developed by IWC that is as light and strong as titanium and at the same time as hard and unscratchable as ceramic. Thanks to the combination of ceramic and Ceratanium, the chronograph is distinguished by its entirely matt black design. This jet black look is complemented by a black dial with black luminescent-coated hands. The small seconds hand and the jet-shaped end of the chronograph seconds hand add a touch of red to the instrument-inspired dial. In addition to the classic chronograph functions, it also offers a date and day of the week display. With a green textile strap, it is equipped with the IWC-manufactured 69380 calibre, a self-winding mechanical movement with a 46-hour power reserve.
