The impression after the first day of the Salon de la Haute Horlogerie de Genève (SIHH) is that the Richemont Group intends to exploit the possible synergies between the manufactures it owns more and more.
While launching a new line of watches under the Ralph Lauren brand (the result of a joint venture with the American fashion giant), equipping the new watches with IWC, Piaget and, above all, Jaeger-LeCoultre movements (prices starting at CHF 10,000), the Group is also presenting the first Baume&Mercier with Val Fleurier movements. That is to say, manufacture calibres, made by the Group's factory already responsible for other proprietary brands.
All this, aiming in general at the high-end of the market, something that can only make enthusiasts rejoice, since in fact it corresponds to increasingly interesting products from a mechanical and complication point of view.
As far as Italy is concerned, the most interesting novelty of the day is Piaget's new Polo FortyFive line, composed of an automatic and a chronograph in titanium with a remarkable aesthetic impact, naturally with manufacture movements. Prices: 9,300 euros for the automatic, 13,500 for the chronograph, with a rubber strap.
