Nomos Glashütte: the new Minimatik 39 date display

The Saxon manufacturer expands its Minimatik collection with the introduction of three new models with 39.5 mm case diameters, which join the 35.5 mm models.

Nomos Glashütte presents three new Minimatik with a 39.5 mm steel case, 7.5 mm thick. Compared to the 35.5 mm case versions (which are 8.9 mm thick), these new Minimatiks therefore have a lower overall thickness, also thanks to the adoption of the hand-wound DUW 4601 manufacture calibre (2.8 mm thick) instead of the self-winding DUW 3001 (which is 3.2 mm thick) used on the 35.5 mm case models. Compared to the DUW 3001, the DUW 4601 calibre is also equipped with a date display.

The date window, which opens at 3 o'clock, has a gold frame. At 6 o'clock are the small seconds. Three versions are available, namely Minimatik 39 date, Minimatik 39 date gold (with gold hands), and Minimatik 39 date blue (with a deep blue dial).

At the heart of these Minimatik 39 dates is the aforementioned IWC-manufactured DUW 4601 calibre (21,600 vibrations per hour), which guarantees a 52-hour power reserve and is visible through the sapphire crystal case back. This hand-wound movement, entirely developed and produced in-house, incorporates the Nomos Swing-System, the company's proprietary escapement.

The decoration of the movement features a beautiful sunburst pattern, which extends to the edge of the date disc. The date ring itself, positioned naturally around the movement, is finished in the same shade as the dial. Also noteworthy is the presence of blue vines.

The three models differ in the colour of the dial (silvered or blue) and in the presence or absence of gold-plated hands.

Aesthetically speaking, these new Minimatik 39s employ a very thin bezel, thus leaving ample space for the dial. The latter, protected by a domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, features flush hands and hour markers with dot and Arabic numerals.

These new timepieces signed Nomos Glashütte sthey are combined with a strap in Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan black or dark brown, with customised steel buckle. Water resistance is guaranteed up to a pressure of 5 atmospheres.
