From the ashes of the 2020 editions of Watches&Wonders and Baselworld comes a new watchmaking event: Geneva Watch Days. Leading brands - Bulgari, Breitling, Ulysse Nardin, Girard-Perregaux, MB&F, De Bethune Urwerk - are joining forces to create an independent event with the full support of the Canton of Geneva. While other brands are considering joining the initiative (among them Chopard and H. Moser & Cie.), a date has already been set: the Geneva Watch Days will be held from 26 to 29 April, i.e. in the week in which Watches& Wonders was supposed to take place, in various hotels in the city.
A fine initiative, created to give watchmaking visibility in this difficult 2020 deprived of the two most important trade fairs in the sector, but which could in the near future flank them, given the new dates of Baselworld at the end of January 2021.
Everything at the moment is in transformation. And it is good that watchmaking does not stop, nor does it give up.
