MoonSwatch Mission to the Pink Moonphase

Swatch celebrates April's Pink Moon with the new MoonSwatch Mission to the Pink Moonphase.

MoonSwatch Mission to the Pink Moonphase

Swatch celebrates the annual appearance of the Pink Moon (which will occur on 13 April) with the new Bioceramic MoonSwatch Mission to the Pink Moonphase. This watch can only be purchased for a limited time, starting on 1 April, and only in selected Swatch outlets. In particular, these are those where a miniature pink Rolling Planet car appears.

In addition, this year's April Pink Moon has a special feature: it is also a micromoon, which means that it can appear slightly smaller and fainter than usual in the sky, because in its orbit it is at the furthest point from the Earth. This is the exact opposite of last August, when the full Moon was at the closest point to our planet and appeared larger than usual.

In addition to the chrono functions, this timepiece with its 42 mm case in pink Bioceramic features a moon phase indicator at 2 o'clock on a black and pink/silver opalescent sub-dial. The moon phases feature two pink moons that glow in the dark, emitting a pink light thanks to the SuperLuminova coating, as they rotate under the pink/silver opalescent mask️. When subjected to UV light, the moon phase mask reveals a secret detail, namely the inscription 'pink moon'.

The new MoonSwatch Mission to the Pink Moonphase features a pulsometer scale on the bezel.

Typical of sports chronographs, the pulsometer is a specific function that allows the wearer to easily measure the heart rate. To use it, you start the chronograph when you feel the pulse. After counting 30 beats, you stop the chronograph and use the pulse rate scale on the dial to determine your heart rate in beats per minute (BPM). The chronograph start/stop button (at 2) features a raised heart, an apt detail that refers to the pulsometer.

MoonSwatch Mission to the Pink Moonphase

Like all models in the Bioceramic MoonSwatch collection, the Mission to the Pink Moonphase is made of Bioceramic, Swatch's patented blend of two-thirds ceramic and one-third organic materials derived from castor oil. Water resistance is guaranteed up to a pressure of 3 atmospheres.
