Milano d'Oro, the event promoted by the Lombard Goldsmiths' Association and supported by many leading companies in the gold sector, was unfortunately marked by the entry into force of the 4 November decree, issued at the dawn of the opening of the event.
Some (few) events, such as our Clock of the Year award, could be held, albeit with revised formulas.
AOL is not giving up, and while work is already underway for the November 2021 edition, it is giving a spring appointment to the brands that have already supported what can be considered a zero edition. The dates have yet to be finalised.
We report the statement by Andrea Sangalli, president of the Associazione Orafa Lombarda:
Dear Friends and Colleagues
thank you for your trust and support for this initiative; our wish would be to make up for this first anomalous edition in the spring, if conditions allow us to do so.
We are already working on the next autumn edition, which, besides being B2B, will also be B2C and will involve the public through the jewellers/clocks and the programming of exhibitions, information meetings and more.
Of course, this first experience gave us the opportunity to see how communication could be organised; I would like to receive suggestions, observations and, why not, even constructive criticism from you.
However, it is our intention to continue to talk about Milano d'Oro during 2021 with interviews, reports and by talking on social media. So, I am still counting on your collaboration.
I take this opportunity to thank Dody Giussani of 'L'Orologio' and Giovanni Micera of 'Preziosa Magazine' who have been - and will be - two indispensable partners. - Andrea Sangalli
So updates will follow in the coming months...
