Mido extends its Commander Gradient collection with a new model featuring a green shaded dial.
The distinctive feature of Commander Gradient by Mido is represented by the dial with a degradé effect, transparent in the centre and progressively darker towards the edges. This aesthetic solution is not only a design element, but also allows one to observe the beating heart of the watch, the Calibre 80.
Available until now in blue and black, the company now offers a new green version. On the same dial, luminescent geometric hour markers in white stand out, guaranteeing perfect legibility. The hour and minute hands, lacquered black in the centre and also coated with SuperLuminova white, ensure excellent visibility even in low light conditions.
To complete the picture, the date window positioned at 3 o'clock and the sexagesimal scale on the rehaut. A domed sapphire crystal protects the dial.
Mido Commander Gradient: the Calibre 80
This automatic movement (based on ETA C07.611) guarantees a power reserve of 80 hours.
The Commander Gradient is powered by Calibre 80 (operating frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour), which is visible both through the dial and through the screw-down case back fitted with a porthole. This mechanical automatic movement boasts a 80-hour power reserve and uses a Nivachron balance spring, which offers superior resistance to magnetic fields and shocks.
The movement finishes include côtes de Genève on the oscillating weight, which is also personalised with the House logo. It is 40 mm in diameter and 10.8 mm thick, The satin-finished steel case with polished bezel maintains the classic lines that have made the Commander a timeless icon. Suffice it to say that Mido's Commander has been produced continuously since 1959.
Finally, the satin-finished steel bracelet is equipped with an easy-to-change system, allowing you to customise your watch with other straps. The bracelet itself is equipped with a double folding clasp with two safety pushers. Water resistance is guaranteed up to a pressure of 5 atmospheres (50 metres).
