The latest edition of Watches of Italy, the fair dedicated to Italian manufacturers, was full of novelties. One of the most interesting was undoubtedly the brand new CN Milano. Founder and soul of the brand is Chiara Nardo, a Milanese designer who, after years of working for various groups in the sector, decided to launch her own creature.
The first model in production is called Italiano and has a 42 mm diameter steel case with an integrated bracelet, sapphire crystal glass and back, a screw-down crown with two notches for ease of use, and is pressure-resistant to 10 atmospheres.
The glance is dominated by the alternation of finishes that also continues on the bracelet: polished for the side surfaces and the bezel, brushed for the upper part and sandblasted for the central groove, a sober yet unmistakable element that is the dominant feature of the entire aesthetic layout.
It also runs vertically across the dial, available in white, blue or black, with rhodium-plated and applied hour markers. At 2 o'clock is the brand logo, a horizontal 2 that can also be read as the stylised CN initials. The movement is the reliable Sellita SW200, an automatic mechanical with 28,800 vibrations per hour, 26 jewels and 38 hours of power reserve, with a personalised rotor, visible through the transparent back.
Lastly, as Chiara Nardo herself explains: "When ordering, customers can personalise their watch by choosing whether to keep or remove the thin tricolour inserted between the flange and the crystal, and above all by having their signature or initials engraved on the dial, just as if it were a made-to-measure shirt. The price is €2,350 (€2,450 if you personalise the dial with a signature or initials). Website and e-commerce channel: www.cnmilano.it, instagram: @cnmilano_watches.
