Microbrand - The debut of young brand Havid Nagan

A new entry in the watchmaking field, Havid Nagan is aiming at the top end of the range with refined mechanics, a modern look and decorations that recall tradition.

Havid Nagan

A former US real estate developer of Armenian origin, Aren Bazerkaniam left his job in Los Angeles at just 27 years old to found the watch brand Havid Nagan: 'I decided not to name the brand after myself because I am not a watchmaker. I would like to build something lasting, so I chose the words that mean eternity in Armenian'. Although just born, the brand is aiming directly at the top end of the range with refined mechanics, a modern look and decorations that recall tradition.

The first model to hit the market, starting this autumn, is an automatic titanium solotempo with a guilloché dial in three colours. The HN00 has a cushion-shaped case 40.7 mm in diameter and 11.7 mm thick, with a brushed finish, bevelled and polished edges, integrated lugs, sapphire crystal on both sides, and a pressure resistance of 10 atmospheres. The case back is slightly curved to increase comfort. The dial, with its beautiful guilloché grain d'orge motif and applied hour markers, is available in blue, green or burgundy. The price is $8,000.

The choice of movement is very interesting: a Schwarz-Etienne ASE 200.00 calibre, with micro-rotor, 21,600 vibrations per hour and no less than 86 hours of power reserve, personalised with burnished bridges and plate, gold lettering, côtes de Genève and perlage.
