Heterogeneity has been in the DNA of the Maen brand since its inception: founded in 2017 by Sebastiaan Cortjaens and Jules van Helvoort, two Dutch friends who love the United States, it is based in Sweden and makes its watches in Switzerland. The same goes for its production, which mixes a number of heterogeneous cues in just the right measure with an almost unbeatable price/quality ratio thanks to the use of premium materials, such as sapphire crystals and ceramics, and Swiss mechanical movements. An example of this is the Skymaster 38 chronograph, with sapphire crystal box, ceramic bezel and ETA 2894 movement, offered in six combinations for €1,258.
The Hudson 38 diver (the 38 mm diameter is a trademark) is pressure-resistant to 30 atmospheres and is equipped with a self-winding Ronda R-150 calibre. Price: 649 euros.
One of the most recently produced watches is the Manhattan model, a solotempo with an integrated bracelet, octagonal in shape, with vertical côtes de Genève on the dial. On sale for €749, it is available in four colours with or without a date display and is expressly inspired by the Vacheron Constantin 2215, a beautiful and very rare model launched in 1975, just before the Nautilus.
