Microbrand - Felipe Pikullik aims for the moon and stars

At only 29 years old, independent German watchmaker Felipe Pikullik has already started a brand that produces exclusively handmade haute horlogerie models.

It is not uncommon to find interesting ideas, worthy of great watchmaking brands, even among lesser-known micro-brands. Far more difficult is to find pure talent. Felipe Pikullik is undoubtedly one of them.

At 13, he enjoyed fixing the broken watches of friends and relatives (and succeeded!). At 23, immediately after attending watchmaking school in Glashütte, he launched his own brand which today, after five years, is already on the radar of discerning collectors and has a waiting list of several months.

Production revolves around ETA calibres which Felipe himself modifies and decorates in every component and which power solotempo, skeleton and moon-phase models.

The Mondphase 1 (moon phase in German) has a dial that plays on different hand-made finishes, on which the visible complication between 8 and 9 o'clock and the miniature moon at 11 o'clock stand out. Price: 24,000 euros.

The Sternenhimmel (starry sky) model has an aventurine dial and can be enriched with diamonds on the lugs on request. Customers may however request any kind of personalisation. Price: from 12,000 euros.

Distribution is through a very few dealers, including Pietro Tomajer's The Limited Edition. Instagram: @felipe_pikullik, website: www.felipe-pikullik.de, e-market: www.thelimitededition.co.uk.
