At Lvmh Watch Week, Louis Vuitton presented a watch that expresses a deep knowledge of watchmaking tradition and is not afraid to be daring: the Tambour Convergence.
The sense of beauty and admiration for watchmaking from the past can be read in the new model signed Louis Vuitton. Il Tambour Convergence, in fact, with a new automatic movement that reinterprets the concept of the 'montre à guichet' (guichet mount), a watchmaking expression of a bygone era which takes us back to the 1920s.
The choice of the name, Convergence, is a tribute to the fusion of trades and skills in Louis Vuitton's Geneva ateliers. That is, La Fabrique du Temps for movement design, La Fabrique des Boîtiers for case production, La Fabrique des Arts for rare craftsmanship.
It is a watch just 37 mm in diameter and 8 mm thick, with a closed case on the dial. The hours and minutes (it is not a jumping hour watch) run on two discs facing a circular sector at 12 o'clock.

Apart from the truncated cone shape of Vuitton's characteristic Tambour case, the watch exudes classicism, expresses historical knowledge, culture and a taste for the refinement of the wristwatch, which to be an exercise in style must involve the miniaturisation of the mechanics.
The hours rotate clockwise through the upper arc and the minutes occupy the lower arc, with a gold or platinum lozenge positioned between the two apertures for intuitive time reading. The Arabic numerals are elegant with a calligraphic touch, a contemporary homage to the classic watches of the turn of the century.

The movement represents an important innovation becauseé is the result of an internal development in the Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton. The automatic LFT MA01.01 calibre, with a 45-hour power reserve, has a V-cut rose gold oscillating weight. Finally, Tambour Convergence is available in rose gold or platinum with 795 snow-set diamonds.
