Louis Erard has always offered excellent quality watches at more than affordable prices. In this 2022, the House is presenting two new Excellence Petite Seconde, named Terracotta because of the particular colouring of the dial. The most significant novelty, apart from the aforementioned dial, is the possibility of choosing between two sizes in reference to the polished steel case, namely an unprecedented 39 mm diameter and a more "important" 42 mm. However, much of the attention is captured by the terracotta-coloured dial, with arrow-shaped hands and subjected to different finishes, matt in the centre and brushed in the area of the hour-markers, which are applied Arabic numerals and bar-markers. The small seconds counter at 6 o'clock, for its part, is guilloché-engraved with a filets circulaires motif. Protecting the dial itself is a domed sapphire crystal. The movement used is the same for both case sizes, namely the Sellita calibre SW266-1 (25.6 mm in diameter, 5.6 mm thick, 31 jewels, 28,800 vibrations per hour, 38-hour power reserve), mechanical with automatic winding, visible through the case back and with a skeletonised, personalised oscillating weight. The watch is completed by a dark brown Baranil calfskin strap with a steel pin buckle. Production is limited to around one hundred pieces per year for each of the two references.
