Longines Pro-Am Cup Monte Carlo

From 27 to 29 June, the Principality of Monaco was the venue for the sixth leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour, one of the most prestigious equestrian competitions on the circuit. Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the Longines Global Champions Tour, the Swiss watchmaker Longines participated in Monaco over the weekend in an equestrian event of great charm that combines elegance and spectacle. Longines presented two of the main events of the Monegasque leg: the Longines Pro-Am Cup won by Mark McAuley riding Loriot and Maddalena Valenzano Menada on Quidana and the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of the Prince of Monaco won by Richard Spooner riding Cristallo followed by the riders William Funnell and Edwina Tops-Alexander. The winners of the respective competitions that achieved promotion in the Global Champions Tour Ranking were presented with a Longines timepiece. Princess Caroline of Hanover, her daughter Charlotte Casiraghi and Charles Villoz, Vice President Sales of Longines also attended the award ceremony. Longines' passion for equestrian sports dates back to 1878 with the production of a chronograph engraved with a jockey and his horse. This model, much loved by jockeys and horse enthusiasts and present on race courses since 1881, allowed precision performances to the second. By 1886 it was already known and used by most sports judges. Moreover, in 1926, the brand participated for the first time as timekeeper in the Official International Equestrian Competition in Geneva. Longines' involvement in equestrian sports today includes flat racing, show jumping and endurance competitions. This year, the official watch of the Monaco show jumping competition was a model from the new watch line, the Conquest Classic, dedicated to equestrian sports enthusiasts. Throughout its long history of tradition, precision and savoir-faire, Longines has approached the world of equestrian disciplines with passion, reflecting the values of elegance and performance that are so dear to the brand. This new collection, whose models are exclusively equipped with automatic calibres, is both thoroughly contemporary and timeless.
