Longines Master Collection DFS Special Edition

The DFS Group proposes exclusively in Europe at T Fondaco dei Tedeschi the DFS special edition of the Longines Master Collection, a timepiece dedicated to international travellers, luxury lovers and demanding customers looking for high quality watches. Created specifically to celebrate the 50-year partnership between the DFS Group and Longines, the DFS special edition of the Longines Master Collection will be available for purchase at T Fondaco dei Tedeschi in Venice from April. The watch features a silvered sunray dial with black Roman numerals and is available in two case sizes, 29 mm and 40 mm, with two interchangeable straps in stainless steel and brown alligator, both fitted with a folding clasp. The Longines Master Collection DFS Special Edition is the perfect contemporary illustration of tradition, elegance and performance. The Master Collection was launched by Longines in 2005 and was immediately a great success. Over the years, the Longines Master Collection has been enriched with new variants, but has never lost sight of the timeless classic elegance that is emblematic of the brand and contributes to its global success. The building that houses T Fondaco dei Tedeschi was erected in 1228 to accommodate the merchants from beyond the Alps and quickly became one of the most significant trading places between West and East in Venice, a place where metals and precious stones, rare spices, silk, glass, brocades, velvet and lace were traded and bought. Destroyed twice by fire, it was rebuilt in its present form in 1508. The subject of radical structural interventions in the early 20th century, the Post Office officially became its owner in 1925. In 2008, Edizione Property bought the building and entrusted its restoration to the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas of the OMA studio. In 2016, the DFS Group opened its first lifestyle department store in Europe in this space, T Fondaco dei Tedeschi, and commissioned the Englishman Jamie Fobert with the project to redevelop the interior spaces and furnishings. The store offers a range of products and brands from the fashion, accessories, beauty and gastronomy sectors and top quality products chosen from among the most representative Made in Italy and international fashion, as well as a careful selection of local craftsmanship, quality cuisine by a Michelin-starred chef and history, architecture, art and culture. In fact, T Fondaco dei Tedeschi also confirms itself as an important cultural centre for the city of Venice, thanks to the contemporary art exhibitions and the packed calendar of events that enliven the Event Pavilion on the fourth floor, attracting an increasingly numerous and affectionate public.
