Longines Flagship Heritage in black

Longines pays tribute to its Flagship collection with a new model featuring a black dial and a design characteristic of the 1950s. Inspired by a rare example of the period, the watch displays a very understated aesthetic. A concentrate of technical mastery and vintage elegance, this timepiece enriches the brand's Heritage segmentThe Flagship collection was launched by Longines in 1957 and is one of the very first lines christened by the brand. Called Flagship, it flies the flag of the admiral of a fleet. With this symbolism-laden name, the collection has been one of the flagships of the winged hourglass brand since the late 1950s. Today, Longines revisits this unisex line by drawing inspiration from a model with a black dial from 1957, particularly coveted by collectors. A concentrate of technical mastery and elegance, this new Flagship watch houses a self-winding mechanical movement (calibre L615) and sports a 38.50 mm diameter steel case, characteristic of the collection, with its customary inward-facing bevelled lugs. Faithful to the design of the watch it is inspired by, this model adopts a convex black lacquered dial with a polished finish protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, with applied, trapezoid and facetted hour markers. The date window at 6 o'clock is topped by an off-centre small seconds counter and the inscription 'Flagship', in the style of the watchmaking aesthetic typical of the 1950s. The gilded caravel embellished with blue enamel, the collection's emblem, is engraved on the screw-down caseback. The model is combined with a black leather strap decorated with light beige stitching and fastened with a pin buckle.
