Refined lines and a sporty profile for this Romain Gauthier watch, created thanks to the combination of different materials: platinum for the case and bezel, plus white gold used not only for the movement, a mechanical hand-wound manufacture movement, entirely decorated by hand and with a seconds stop mechanism, but also for the grey dial with blue details, sandblasted and treated with a special coating that protects it from UV rays.
The watch is available in a second version that differs from the first in that it has a blue PVD-treated dial with white details.
Highlights on the dial of both models are the hour and minute hands off-centred on the horizontal axis and the 5-second intervals of the small seconds at 7 o'clock, marked by thin lines of different lengths.
The bezel was first machined into a round shape with a circular bevel; six straight sides were then cut to create six facets. While these facets, which have been polished, reflect the light, the rest of the bezel absorbs it thanks to its satin finish.
The same facetted design is replicated around the sapphire crystal on the back of the watch.
Romain Gauthier has placed the winding and time-setting crown at 2 o'clock, freeing up space for wrist movement. For ease of handling, the platinum crown can be fluted or surrounded by a rubber ring. Completing the look is a one-piece rubber strap with a satin-finished and polished platinum pin buckle. The price of the C by Romain Gauthier Platinum Edition watch is CHF 78,000 (excluding tax).
