Continuing its great work of re-evaluating its past, Longines marks the return of a watch that was destined for the Czechoslovak Army aviation in the 1930s, the Pilot Majetek, made to a number of specifications, including the presence of a rotating bezel with a mobile luminous index. Its modern reinterpretation, while preserving the original spirit, updates its style with new-generation technical features.
With a diameter of 43 mm and revised proportions, it features the same original coussin case (the patent was registered on 1 April 1935) now slightly curved and with more rounded lugs for optimal comfort.
As on the 1935 model, there is a knurled rotating bezel with a mobile luminous index (Starting Time Indicator), in this case placed under the sapphire crystal and above the dial. In the 1935 model, however, the bezel and the glass with the reference triangle rotated in a single block. Today, the sapphire crystal is fixed and contributes to the water resistance of the new case (100 metres).
In the tradition of military watches, the dial is matt black for optimal legibility. The SuperLuminova old radium luminescence accentuates the vintage style. The movement is the automatic L893.6 calibre with silicon balance spring and 72-hour power reserve, Cosc-certified. On the case middle, at 9 o'clock, a commemorative plaque bears the inscription '1935', the date the first 'Majetek' was launched.
It is available with a brown or green leather strap with two beige stop stitches, or with a Nato strap made of polyester fibres, designed from recycled materials.
