Lenny Kravitz is an artist who certainly needs no introduction. Born in 1964, the American musician is among the most loved by audiences around the world. With 11 albums to his credit and more than 40 million copies sold, his music contains soul, rock and funk influences, which also draw inspiration from the typical sounds of the 1960s and 1970s. A multifaceted talent, Kravitz is also a producer, multi-instrumentalist, actor, designer and photographer. On the big screen, he played the role of Cinna in "Hunger Games" and in The Hunger Games: The Girl on Fire," and won critical acclaim for his performances in 'Precious" and 'The Butler".
His creative studio Kravitz Design Inc. boasts an outstanding portfolio of noteworthy works, including hotel structures and residential projects. Last year, he launched the ultra premium liquor brand Nocheluna Sotol, a distillate made from the plant Dasylirion wheeleri (also known as 'sotol'), which grows in Mexico. Also in 2022, he received the Fashion Icon Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), for distinguishing himself as an icon and reference in the fashion world.
The collaboration with Jaeger-LeCoultre seemed natural, given the many points in common between his creative philosophy and that of the Maison. "For creative personalities like me, it is crucial to find your own voice, to know what you stand for and to be true to your vision, while always remaining open to new horizons of thought," said the American artist. Passionate about watches since childhood, Lenny adds: 'I feel very close to Jaeger-LeCoultre. The way he manages to combine such a high level of craftsmanship, design and functionality in his watches really affects me deeply."
One of Lenny's favourite watches is the Reverso (pictured with the Tribute Duoface Tourbillon), which he also wore during his performance at the Oscars 2023. "In addition to functionality, style is important in a watch: the way it looks and fits on the wrist. It's crucial to create a real bond with the watch," Kravitz said. "I feel like the Jaeger-LeCoultre watches I own have always been on my wrist: they blend with me and their style is definitely timeless. One can really make them one's own by adapting them to one's mood and preferences, and always get a new creation. The feeling is that they become one with the wearer."
Lenny Kravitz is also the author of 'Flash', a book in which he collects and illustrates his photographic works, characterised by a purely rock aesthetic. His autobiography, entitled 'Let Love Rule', is on the New York Times best-seller list. Lenny released his 11th album, 'Raise Vibration', in 2018. Finally, he was recently selected as one of the personalities to be inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2023.
