Jaeger-LeCoultre: revisiting the Master Control Geographic

Jaeger-LeCoultre's Geographic has characterised the Master Control collection since 1990 and is very popular with enthusiasts. Rather than just showing the time in a second time zone, the watch also features a 24-hour day/night indicator and, in an aperture at the bottom of the dial, displays the name of the city relative to each time zone. This allows travellers to set the second time zone according to location, rather than having to calculate the time difference. The dial echoes the aesthetics of the Geographic, with the time zone indications balanced by a date counter and power reserve indicator, while the blued steel hands add a touch of colour that enhances legibility. The entire dial is now decorated with a soleil finish, framed by a wide convex rim on which the elongated triangular indices are set. The profile of each index has been worked in such a way as to fit perfectly into the curve joining the rim to the dial. The watch is powered by the Calibre 939, a new-generation self-winding mechanical movement that increases the Master Control Geographic's power reserve to 70 hours, while the case is available in steel or Le Grand Rose gold.
