Jaeger-LeCoultre presents the Polaris Geographic, with an eye-catching lacquered dial shaded in ocean blue.
The new Polaris Geographic borrows a complication already present in the more elegant Master collection by Jaeger-LeCoultre. And, in 2018, also in the same Polaris line, with a limited edition model featuring a dual time zone and a 24-city reference ring, as well as a date hand and power reserve.
Compared to the latter The current Geographic, with its 42 mm steel case, has a sportier allure, also due to the use of two interchangeable straps, one in textured black rubber and the other in blue-grey canvas. The Polaris Geographic allows the second time zone to be set according to position (by turning the crown to 10), without calculating the time difference. In fact, once the city is selected, the corresponding time is automatically shown.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Geographic: new enamel dial
The enamel dial comes in a beautiful shaded ocean blue colour.
The Polaris Geographic is easy to navigate, also thanks to the different textures of the new enamel dial (there are no less than 35 layers of enamel) ocean grey, which nicely highlight the watch's functions. The second time zone is in a counter at 6 o'clock, with the day/night indicator next to it. At the bottom, there is the opening showing the name of the city for each of the 24 main time zones. The indication of the power reserve is located in the upper left-hand sector.
Facetted, skeletonised and luminescent baton hands (with green emission) are combined with trapezoidal hour markers and Arabic numerals, also luminescent. The sapphire crystal back reveals the automatic movement, calibre 939 (28,800 vibrations per hour, thickness 4.97 mm), of manufacture, with 70-hour power reserve.
