The deep connection between IWC and motor racing has been going on for more than ten years. In 2003, in fact, collaborations began with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One team, of which it is Official Engineering Partner, and with racing driver Lewis Hamilton, who has become brand ambassador for the brand. From reality to film fiction, however, the step is short and IWC has announced a partnership with Apple Original Films' highly anticipated Formula One film, directed by Joseph Kosinski. The film is co-produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Films, Plan B Entertainment and Lewis Hamilton's own Dawn Apollo Film.

"We are a brand that has always been associated with motorsport, so we couldn't pass up the opportunity to participate in this project. We are thrilled that the film will be shot with race cars on real circuits and we can't wait to see the incredible experience that will be delivered on screen, said Chris Grainger-Herr, CEO of IWC.

But in what role will we see IWC on screen? The manufacturer becomes sponsor of the APX GP team, eleventh on the grid. An imaginary team, of course, but the IWC logo will appear on the front wing and the Halo (the Formula 1 driver's head protection) of his single-seaters, on race suits, helmets, gloves and team uniforms, as well as in the box.
