After opening several boutiques around the world last year, IWC is now putting down roots in Rome, the eternal city. To underline the importance of the Italian market, the Swiss watch manufacturer has chosen Piazza di Spagna, the beating heart of the capital, as the location for its first Italian boutique and showcase for its historic timepieces. IWC's first Italian boutique opens its doors at Piazza di Spagna, number 28, a prestigious address in the heart of Rome. Visitors are invited to discover the fascinating world of IWC's six watch families, the art of watchmaking and the fascination of haute horlogerie. "Practically no one goes to Rome without visiting the Spanish Steps. It is an honour to present our mechanical masterpieces, our philosophy and our tradition in this historic and prestigious setting," says Georges Kern, CEO of IWC. Located inside a historic building in Rome, the new boutique covers an area of 40 square metres bathed in natural light, which enters through large windows: the perfect setting to showcase the prestigious timepieces from the Schaffhausen-based manufacturer. With the use of dark wood and other materials such as chrome and leather, IWC's architects have created an elegant atmosphere that reflects the clear lines of the watches and the prestigious tradition inextricably linked to the IWC brand. With a new showcase concept featuring a large screen, IWC uses moving images to illustrate the thematic worlds accompanying the individual watch families. This year, the spotlight will be on the Ingenieur watch family in particular, which was created in cooperation with the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team and features alternating backgrounds reminiscent of the performance of racing cars as well as the vintage appeal of the Silberpfeil. In addition to the extensive watch collection, visitors will also find a wide range of exclusive models available exclusively in IWC boutiques.
