IWC presents its most exclusive and complicated watch ever: the brand-new Portuguese Sidérale Scafusia, the result of ten years of research, which combines solar and sidereal time displays. On the dial, the constant-force tourbillon cage stands at 9 o'clock, while the sidereal time dial is positioned at 12 o'clock. Turning the watch displays the celestial chart and the horizon, according to the location of the buyer's choice, and provides indications of the rising and setting of the sun, by means of two red triangles revolving around the 24-hour ring. The caseback also displays the perpetual calendar indications and the absolute day of the year, taking leap years into account.
The watch will not go into series production, but will be produced exclusively to order and will be available in various case and dial colour combinations.
