For the fifth time IWC supports the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation (which cares for disadvantaged children and adolescents around the world) with a limited special edition of one of its models. After the Portuguese Chrono Automatic in 2006, the Pilot's Watch Chrono Automatic in 2007, the Da Vinci Chronograph in 2008 and the Portuguese Automatic in 2009/2010, in 2011 it is the turn of the Ingenieur Automatic from the IWC Vintage Collection.
The Ingenieur Automatic Edition Laureus Sport For Good Foundation is made of steel with a dial in the unmistakable blue and is in a limited series of 1,000. In keeping with its tradition, IWC has launched another drawing competition for children as part of the worldwide projects supported by the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation. The winning drawing is engraved on the back of the special model. This year, the jury chose an illustration by eight-year-old Sohel Abrar Khan from Mumbai, who is involved in the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation's Magic Bus project. The child illustrates the competition theme 'Time for Unity' with a drawing in which seven young people gather to play football. The engraving reminds us that part of the proceeds will go towards projects for disadvantaged children in problematic areas of the world.
