We have already covered the new brand Isotope Watches, which we presented in _month and year_ in our Microbrand column. It is a brand that is growing in proposals and quality, which we continue to follow with pleasure in its evolution. Today, Isotope is launching this beautiful model with a 40 mm bronze case, inspired by the Pilot's Watch. Its case is made of CuSn8 bronze, one of the highest quality bronzes, composed of 92% of copper, between 7.5 and 8% of tin and around 0.30% of phosphor. Like all other types of bronze, it will develop a slight surface patina over time, giving the watch a unique appearance, but this will happen more slowly than with other types of lower quality alloys.
The central area of the dial is characterised by the presence of the 'teardrop', the logo of the House, in military green and placed on a second level with respect to the remaining elements, and is surrounded by a tobacco-coloured zone, where the Arabic numeral indices are placed.
The latter, as well as the diamond-shaped hands, are sampled with SuperLuminova in a shade reminiscent of the radium inserts that were used in the wristwatches of yesteryear, hence also the 'Old Radium' inscription that appears in the name of the watch. Protecting the dial is an anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
In order to avoid allergies, the case back is made of titanium and opens to view, through a sapphire crystal porthole, the Landeron 24 calibre, mechanical with automatic winding (Swiss Made, 28,800 vibrations per hour, 40-hour power reserve, Côtes de Genève and circular-grained finishing). The new Isotope Old Radium Tobacco is water-resistant to 100 metres (crown and back are screwed down) and comes with a strap available in Italian-made calfskin or one made of vegetable leather by the Spanish Didymostraps.
