"We are condemned to create rare watches. It is what our customers expect'. Three years after the launch of Project Z1, we are reminded of this phrase by Ronald Winston, creative mind and leader of the Harry Winston. Project Z4 is the fourth model in a collection that for the first time proposes the use of an alloy that is harder than titanium, but just as light: Zalium. An unusual material in watchmaking, Zalium had hitherto seen applications limited to the aeronautical field and surgical instruments, boasting non-allergenic properties and extreme resistance to corrosion.
Project Z4 is a dual time with two separate dials for displaying as many time zones, with day/night indication. One can switch from one time zone to the other by pressing the button located at 10 o'clock on the case middle. The date display is very unusual, on two discs, one for the tens and the other for the units, which intersect and are highlighted vertically by a black window. The small shuriken symbol (a multi-bladed ninja cutting weapon), common to all Project Z watches, rotates to confirm the correct functioning of the movement, the automatic GP 3196 calibre, manufactured by Girard Perregaux. The Project Z4 is produced in a limited edition of 300 pieces.
