The new MoonSwatch in Bioceramic

The MoonSwatch is the result of the first collaboration between two Swatch Group brands, in a way that we are not yet used to even in fashion. Bravo at Swatch for following the market and realising a project that is leaving everyone stunned, with a product that is already an object of desire.

For Omega, this partnership is a respectful tribute to the courageous company that revitalised the Swiss watch industry in the 1980s, during the crisis following the quartz revolution. While Swatch confirms its irreverent spirit with its reinterpretation of such an iconic watch as the Speed. A win-win operation, in short.

All new MoonSwatches are made of Bioceramic, Swatch's proprietary material consisting of two-thirds ceramic and one-third castor oil. Moonwatch fans will recognise certain key features of the Moonwatch, faithfully reproduced: from the asymmetrical case, to the famous tachymeter scale with the iconic "Dot Over 90" (DON) and the characteristic supplementary counters typical of the Speedmaster, albeit positioned differently.

For Omega's CEO and President Raynald Aeschlimann, the new collection is a source of pride: "OMEGA's long and unique history might have been much shorter had it not been for the vision and courage shown by Swatch. The MoonSwatch collection pays tribute to those who saved our industry in an intelligent and accessible way. Swatch are perfect for those who are passionate about Moonwatch and I cannot think of a more appropriate iconic model for our partnership. We who have gone to the moon will now explore the entire Milky Way. They are extraordinary watches, in fantastic colours, that put us in a good mood.

The new MoonSwatch, with a 42 mm case water-resistant to 3 atmospheres and quartz movement, will only be available at Swatch Stores, starting 26 March.

Price: 250 euro.
