The Caribbean charm of Cuervo y Sobrinos

Called Buceador Caribe, the new diver's watch from Cuervo y Sobrinos is reminiscent, in its colours, of the sandy coastline, crystal-clear waters and corals of Cuba. It features a 43 mm case, in steel or with black DLC treatment, water-resistant to 200 metres. An ingenious push-button system, positioned at 4 o'clock, unlocks the crown at 2 o'clock. The latter is used to adjust the internal rotating bezel, allowing the wearer to monitor their dive time. Another crown, positioned at 9 o'clock, is used to adjust the indications and wind the mainspring. On the dial, which comes in shades of turquoise or sand for the steel versions and black for the DLC-coated one, the hands and hourmarkers are coated with SuperLuminova for better legibility in low-light conditions. A central seconds hand and a date display complete the list of available equipment. In keeping with the tradition of diver's watches, the Buceador Caribe features a solid case back engraved with a depiction of a diver swimming underwater, surrounded by a school of tropical fish. All watches come with two straps, one in calfskin and one in rubber. In addition, they are presented in a new special edition humidor with sections to house the watch and two additional straps. At the heart of Cuervo's new diver is the calibre CYS 5104 (base Peseux 224), a self-winding mechanical movement with a 38-hour power reserve. Prices: 2,800 Swiss francs, excluding tax, for the steel version; 3,000 Swiss francs, excluding tax, for the black DLC version.
