The summer appointment with the Artcurial luxury auctions, which took place from 19 to 21 July at the Hôtel Hermitage in Monte Carlo, has just ended. There were two sales in the watch segment: Collectors' Watchmaking, including the Bull Collection, a set of 36 lots that included the most important names in the sector such as Patek Philippe and Rolex; Le Temps est Féminin, a monothematic auction that celebrated the great jewellery designers, confirming the constant growth of the women's watch market. Together, the two auctions totalled over €3 million. Incredible success for collectors' watches with a record €2,738,990, with 80% of lots sold and an increase of 26% on the two sales compared to the winter session. The highest adjudications were for two Patek Philippe Nautilus: the 40th Anniversary Special Series (lot 13) ref. 5711/P, which sold for €232,200, and a Jumbo model ref. 3700/001 (lot 4) which doubled its initial estimate with an adjudication of €126,100. Third place was recorded by a Rolex Daytona ref. 6263/8 (lot 19), which fetched €119,600 (almost double its estimate). Worthy of note is the performance of a Rolex GMT-Master "Pointed Crown Guards/Underline" ref. 1675 (lot 69), a vintage model from Vietnam, which sold for €29,900 (double its estimate), a figure which underlines the good resilience of the vintage watch market.
