Seven years have passed since the launch of the first model born of the collaboration between Hublot and Sang Bleu. Now, the Swiss watchmaker is presenting the third model born of this partnership, and due to the creativity of Maxime Plescia-Buchi (founder of Sang Bleu), this time from the Spirit of Big Bang collection.

Presented at the Salone del Mobile 2023, these new models employ a 42 mm facetted case that stands out for its pronounced three-dimensionality and ergonomics.

The sapphire dial opens up to view the skeletonised automatic chronograph movement (also visible from the back side), calibre HUB4700 (278 components, 36,000 vibrations per hour, 31 jewels, 50-hour power reserve), behind the curved hands that recall the geometries typical of the watches created in collaboration with Sang Bleu.

The artistic collaboration between Hublot and Maxime Plescia-Buchi unites the world of tattoos with that of haute horlogerie. With regard to the design of these new models, the case back and sapphire crystal are modelled to allow the watch to adhere as closely as possible to the physiognomy of the wrist. To improve the readability of the indications, the shape of the hands has been improved, while the numerals and indices have been further refined.

Speaking of the new Spirit of Big Bang Sang Bleu, Plescia-Buchi himself said: 'The collaboration with Hublot represents an architectural project for me, just as if I were building a house. The Spirit of Big Bang Sang Bleu, in this sense, is the third pillar of this structure. After putting my signature on the Big Bang, the creative process I followed took a new shape. This is the new collection, characterised by the tonneau shape of the Spirit of Big Bang. I questioned and re-evaluated every single component, from the case to the glass, from the strap to the clasp, analysing each form and proportion with a holistic approach. The aim was to transfer the DNA of the Big Bang Sang Bleu II into the Spirit of Big Bang Sang Bleu. The resulting geometric aesthetic is similar, but offers a new interpretation of shapes and volumes'.
